What Clothes Should I bring?
During the autumn and winter months, South Africa can get quite cold at night, so we recommend packing layers, including warm clothing such as a winter jacket and/or raincoat. However, daytime temperatures can be warm, so lighter clothing is also advisable, Zip-off trousers are a great versatile option.
If you plan on joining the bush walk, comfortable walking shoes are essential.
There’s no need for formal wear at dinner.
What Else Should I Pack?
For a safari trip to South Africa in May, we recommend packing the following essentials:
- Sun protection: Sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat or cap, and sunglasses.
- Insect protection: Mosquito repellent and long-sleeved clothing for the evenings.
- Gear & Accessories: A reusable water bottle, camera, spare batteries, and if you have your own binoculars, you may find them useful for wildlife spotting.
- Other Essentials: A small backpack for daily excursions, a headlamp or flashlight, and any personal medications you may need.

All chalets, suites and luxury tents are equipped with hairdryers.

Please note that the Curio shops only accept South African currency but you can pay with a credit card.
